Washington ImagiNation Network coordinates the international creative problem solving program, Destination ImagiNation, in Washington. Over 1800 K-12 young people throughout the state participated in Destination Imagination this year.

The Terrace Park Destination ImagiNation team chose a project called Card-DI-ology, which possesses both engineering and artistic components. The team, the Kung Pao Chickens, was required to build a structure using only playing cards; it was then judged on a weight held/weight of structure ratio. At state competition, the structure itself weighed approximately 1.5 oz. but held an amazing 80 lbs. This put the team in place to compete at Global Finals. But the Kung Pao Chickens did not rest; they improved their structure. It weighs approximately 1.5 oz. and is believed to hold over 150 lbs. Testing is still being done.

The student's added a skit based around how cards affect a central character's life. The narrator looses her cards because the muscle bound "villain" refuses to listen to her and he won’t stay off the machine that controls the existence of all cards in the world. The team coordinated the events of the skit with the testing of their structure. The "card machine" breaks when their structure breaks. Again, the Kung Pao Chickens have not rested; they have improved their scenery and skit over the last few weeks. The skit has been made into a musical by adding a creative song.
